Mytham Bridge repairs and the October Hope Road closure – feedback sought from residents

The recent closure was shorter than planned and there was less disruption than anticipated. The Parish Council liaised closely with DCC Highways to ensure appropriate signage was in place to minimise disruption to Hope and Aston residents. We invite feedback from residents on their experience of the October closure so we can influence how closures and signage are used if and when longer-term, more substantial work at the bridge is undertaken.

Hope Station – an update from High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership

It’s all happening at Hope station - the new fencing is now finished and what a transformation to the look of the station environment! Traditional picket fencing has replaced the old wire mesh fencing along both platforms. New wooden gates will be installed at the bottom of the footbridge. Funding for this project has come from the income generated by car parking fees at Edale station, which supports projects along the Hope Valley line. Next on the list is new fencing at Grindleford station due to start in November 2022. Thanks to Rob Fryer from Derbyshire County Council for his help in making this work happen. Stations along the Hope Valley, Buxton and Glossop lines are looked after by local volunteers, who enjoy making their stations look welcoming and pleasant places…
