National Trust seek feedback on visitor impacts
The National Trust is running a survey asking for feedback from residents in the Peak Park on the impacts we experience from visitor numbers.
The villages of Hope and Aston are located in the heart of the Hope Valley, one of the great scenic landscapes of the Peak District. Both villages are historic, having been listed in the Domesday Book, and with evidence of earlier settlements in the area including bronze age and Roman remains. Hope is located around the fourteenth century church of St Peter’s, while Aston is centred around Aston Hall, built by the Balguys family in 1578. The villages have a thriving community based on a mix of traditional local industries including hill farming and quarrying, combined with tourism and exercise in the UK’s first national park.
